Vice President: Ganping Ju currently is the Managing Technologist at Fremont Media Research Center, Seagate Technology. His primary focus is to work with the team to develop HAMR technologies and extend Perpendicular Recording. He joined Seagate Research Center in Pittsburgh in 1999, has worked as Research Staff Member, Research Manager and Research Director, before moving to Seagate Fremont Media Research Center in 2009. He has been active in the data storage community, including serving as CAISS BOD from 2010-2011, and Board of Advisors in 2012. He has been active in IEEE Magnetics Society and ASTC industrial consortium.

Elaine Ping Wang, Ph.D. Prior to start-up of Allied Advanced Materials and served as president, worked for Samsung, IBM, Hitachi and Heraeus, now with AIG.

Treasurer: William Zhou
William Zhou is a Managing Partner of Star Gush Capital Ltd, responsible for PE investment strategy and management. William Zhou graduated at East China Normal University in computer science, and received MBA master degree from Keele University.
[China Branch] Eileen Yan
Eileen has more than 15 year’s experiences in semiconductor and data storage industry. Her research interests include photolithography process and wafer level integration in Magnetic Data Storage Industry, Semiconductor Industry, Emerging Memory Industry, Magnetic Sensor and MEMS Industry. She currently also holds vice president and advisor position in MutiDimension Technology. Eileen Yan was with Seagate, Intel and Hitachi before joining SMIC. She was the technical director in SMIC. She is the cofounder of MutiDimension Technology, now she works as Deputy Director in China R&D Center for Internet of Things,and also a Deputy Director in Intelligent sensor engineering center of China R&D Center for Internet of things

Dr. Yunjun Tang

Dr. Tang obtained his Ph.D. in solid state physics in 1995 from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOP, CAS), and became an Assistant Professor to research magnetostrictive materials and Devices at IOP, CAS. From 1997 to 1999, he was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at Kaiserslautern University, Germany to study magnetic thin films and device grown with MBE system. 1997, He later became an Associate Professor at IOP, CAS and work on various magnetic thin films and devices. From 2001 to 2005, he joined Center for Magnetic Recording Research, University of California, San Diego with research interests in nanostructures, such as nano particles, 1D and 2D thin films and devices. He joined Western Digital (WD) from 2005 to 2010 as a senior thin film engineer, be responsible of R&D thin film deposition and etching processes. From 2010, he joined AVP technology, LLC as Chief Technology Officer, in charge of thin film etching and deposition process and tool development, marketing and sales.
Dr. Hongxin Yang serves as Senior Technologist at Avalanche Technology, a front runner to commercialize STT MRAM technology. He leads Avalanche high density STT- MRAM product development.
Dr. Yang received his BS degree in Engineering Mechanics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore. From 2005 to 2016, Dr. Yang has worked as Research Engineer, Senior Research Engineer and Research scientist in Data Storage Institute (Singapore). Dr. Yang has achieved amazing success in the area of non-volatile memory technology. In particular, his areas of expertise are PCRAM, RRAM, STT-MRAM, selector devices and high density non-volatile memory development. Dr. Yang’s breakthroughs have been published in above 70 acclaimed international journals and conferences, and holds more than 10 U.S. patents.
Dr. Fan Wang is an expert and leader in the area of AI/Deep learning and wireless communications. He has more than ten years of R&D and managerial experience in ICT. Dr. Wang is currently senior manager in Smart Machine team in Samsung Strategy and Innovation Center (SSIC) located in Silicon Valley, leading the algorithm software team for Samsung’s autonomous driving embedded HW/SW product. He is specialized in perception and deep learning algorithms, and also provides technical advice and guidance to Samsung strategy and investment team. Before that, Dr. Wang was senior manager in Samsung Electronics North America headquarter, leading LTE and 5G wireless system and SW R&D effort and also AI applications on edge devices. Earlier, Dr. Fan Wang contributed to the world’s first commercial LTE multi-mode modem development in Qualcomm. He currently serves as the BoD of CAISS (Chinese American Information and Storage Society). Dr. Wang received his B.S in Tsinghua University, Master and Ph.D. in the University of Arizona. He has published dozens of academic papers, and coauthored more than ten international patents.

Yuanyuan Ji graduated with Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Univeristy of California, Santa Barbara. She joined Western Digital since 2011 as an analytical expert in Tribology. Over the past 7 years, she has explored the areas within hard disk drive, including HDD RSS, Media, and Head divisions. Currently Yuanyuan is an active staging technology program manager of HAMR, a scaleable future technology to demonstrate higher areal density in HDD

Dr. Bincheng Wang is an entrepreneur, focusing on finance, law and technology transfer for startups to expand in China. Dr. Wang obtained his PhD degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Materials Science and Engineering. After working for Western Digital for several years, Dr. Wang joined ZJ Future as Vice President to facilitate U.S. startup to expand business in China.
Jay Tang: Jay works in Facebook as a Technical Program Manager. Jay has 10+ yrs PM experience in storage and server business. Jay has worked in many companies, including Intel, Broadcom, etc. Jay is also working on his MBA degree in UC Berkeley.
Dr. Jianzhi Wu received the M.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012 and Ph.D. degree from University of California at San Diego in 2016, both in electrical engineering. He was the recipient of William S.C. Chang Best Doctoral Dissertation Award in 2017. Dr. Wu has been serving as a technical reviewer for 10 more top-tier journals, and was recognized as the Golden List of Reviewers by the IEEE Electron Device Society in 2016 and 2017. Dr. Wu is currently a R&D engineer at Western Digital Corporation, working on emerging 3D NAND flash memory technology.
